Ashley MacLeod

Ashley grew up in Truro, Nova Scotia; she began her yoga journey after a car accident left her with a painful back injury during her second year of University.  Over the past four years Ashley has been deepening her practice both on and off the mat. She has spent her time volunteering for various non-profit organizations, including embarking in a journey to Costa Rica where she worked with endangered animals in a tranquil, meditative setting learning about what life is really about in the non-material world.

Ashley is certified as of March, 2010 with her yoga Alliance 200 hour teacher Training course, and although she is graduating as a yoga instructor, she will always be a student willing to expand her knowledge of yoga any opportunity she gets. She is devoted to yoga's 8-limb path and really feels that yoga is not only just about the postures, it is how we integrate yoga into everyday life off the mat as healthy, strong, and socially responsible individuals. "Live your Yoga, Love your Life!"

Carol Fellowes

Carol FellowesLong ago (1990), in a far away land (Australia), Carol went to a Satchinanda Yoga Ashram for 2 weeks. In this magical place she learned what it was like to be grounded and clear-headed. She learned what a joy it was to be in her body.  Carol moved to Canada, where she lived, grew and became the mother of two adoring Princes. Through her life experiences, Carol pondered the unlimited possibilities of yoga, not just for herself but for others as well. In an awakened state, she felt she was here to guide and inspire. After 580 hours of yoga teacher training with Helen Wilson Welsh, John Friend, (founder of Anusara), Doug Keller (Anusara), Shakta Kaur Khalsa (Kundalini, Radiant Child Yoga Program), Jenny Otto (Anusara yoga therapist) among others, and guided by her own inner teacher, Carol continues to evolve, learn and grow living happily ever after.

Carol is taking a little time off but will be returning in January.

Heather Lunan
Born and raised in Montreal, Heather began her yoga journey while attending university. The next thirty years saw an exploration and deepening of a practice which has been filled with some amazing experiences.  Living in rural Quebec, Heather had the great fortune of bringing yoga, meditation, and holistic health to this farming community where she, ultimately, opened a studio and practiced her love for holism.

Over the last 20 years Heather has been studying yoga, holistic health, and Feng Shui  in Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, and India. Her yoga training has been in the traditions of Ashtanga, Hatha, and Kundalini.

"I see yoga and health as a path, a way of being. I believe yoga to be a tool of self responsibility. Only through self awareness can we uncover the obstacles we put in our own way. Yoga offers the opportunity to stop and listen to what our body and heart are saying. From this place we can live in integrity with who we really are."

Jason Ward

Jason believes firmly in an holistic approach to fitness, encouraging practices such as Yoga and Functional training to develop healthy well balanced individuals. Jason believes that your body is your machine and you must make sure you look after it and perform all the necessary maintenance to live a happy and healthy life!

Navjeet
About 10 years ago, Navjeet hit a point in her life where the stress was overwhelming and it just seemed like something was missing from her life, she wanted to be happy.  It was at this point that she found yoga, and just in time.  Her first kundalini yoga class is as clear in her memory today as was all those years ago.  She knew she had just found something that would change her life for the better, but she had no idea just how profound a change it would be.

To Navjeet, yoga is life.  There is no separation between practicing on the mat and living life day to day.  She is passionate about the healing that the technology of kundalini yoga has proven to her, and is always overjoyed to watch others have their own healing experiences.  Wherever she goes, she teaches because she feels this is the biggest gift she has to share.

Navjeet has been a certified kundalini yoga teacher for over eight years now.  She has taught all over the world including in India, Thailand, and at The Omega Institute in New York.  She also was a part owner of the Brahmananda Yoga Studio in Toronto.  Navjeet continues to live and study yoga, and has had the privilege of studying with many great teachers.  Navjeet is passionate about yoga and loves teaching.  She feels she has been given a great gift in this lifetime to be able to share this love with you.

Leslie Hunter  CYI 500

Leslie Hunter is a dedicated teacher and student who leads yoga and mediation classes for adults and children in the Vinyasa tradition.  Her teaching is rooted in her experience of yoga on-and-off the mat as well as her commitment to sharing the discipline of practice and yoga's 8-limb path with her students.

For the last six years, Leslie has been teaching at Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  She received her 500 hour certification through TAYS and is currently co-director of the TAYS 200 hour teacher training program.
